National Energy Symposium to Tackle Critical Issue Facing U.S.

June 15, 2007

WHAT: Are Americans on the brink of a major energy crisis? The first-ever National Energy Symposium will examine the urgent energy challenge facing the American economy. Presentation and panel topics will include energy policy, present and future; current and future energy sources; and energy cost and environmental balance.

Symposium sponsors and partner institutions include USC, Caltech, Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, Congressional Quarterly and The Communications Institute, Pasadena, Calif.

WHO: Speakers include David Austin, economist, Congressional Budget Office, Washington, D.C.;
T.C. Cheng, professor of electrical engineering/electrophysics, USC;
Henry Lee, director, environment and natural resources program, Harvard;
Beth Lowery, vice president, environment and energy, General Motors.

WHEN: Thurs., June 15, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: USC University Park campus, Town and Gown building, 665 Exposition Blvd. Enter campus through Gate 3, Figueroa Street, south of Jefferson Boulevard. Parking is free with valid press credentials.
